2. CONSOLAR`s objectives are aimed at the following major commercial goals:

1. Central Solar Power Stations, based on the unique, so called "Reflective Tower" concept, and associated advanced secondary concentrators & collectors to directly drive gas turbines in single or Combined - Cycle configurations. Supportive activity, towards achieving this goal, is also being developed in a separate program by the McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Corp. (now part of the Boeing Co.), in cooperaton with CONSOLAR's respective members, i.e. Ormat Industries, Rotem Industries & WIS.
2. Stand -alone (and grid connected) small Solar Power Facilities, each employing either concentrator photo -voltaics or solar thermal energy conversion. Both of them will have energy storage capability option for remote continuous operation. Silver Arrow, MLM /Israel Aircraft Industry, Tel Aviv University (TAU), WIS & B.G. University (BGU) are participating in the effort, to develop these systems.
3. Same basic technologies, as mentioned above, are aimed to be tailored to power remotely controlled Space Platforms for communication applications (same participants as above). These have been the original objectives (see below the current situation).
4. High power Solar Pumped Lasers, for communication, energy transmission & industrial photo chemical processes. In this development Rotem is collaborating with WIS & BGU.
